Deniz is a strategic C-suite executive with broad global biopharmaceutical experience. She brings commercial, operational and business development expertise in oncology and rare disease in large companies with sales over $5B. With a focus on growth and transformation, she has held leadership roles of increasing P&L responsibility and complexity. She has been recognized for bringing value to organizations by translating complex problems into insights and solutions in fast-paced environments. She has acted as a change agent through multiple mergers and acquisitions.
Deniz Razon is currently Chief Business Officer reporting to the CEO at Servier Pharmaceuticals, U.S. subsidiary of Servier Group, a private global pharmaceutical group. Her responsibilities include leading corporate and pipeline strategy, operations, and development for the U.S. In 2019, she was selected to join the Board of Servier Pharmaceuticals participating in long-term strategic planning and oversight of key growth initiatives.
Previously, Deniz served as Head of Corporate Development at Servier Pharmaceuticals. Her responsibilities included leading strategy for corporate development for the U.S., establishing the operational execution of deal making from assessment to management. She spearheaded the diligence for the US for the $1.8B Agios Oncology deal inked in December 2020, and led integration planning for sales, marketing, access, medical affairs and patient advocacy. This deal was transformative for Servier and hailed as one of top 10 large biopharma M&A deals in 2020 and nominated by Scrip Awards for the BD team of the Year for 2021.
Deniz joined Servier as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for Servier Pharmaceuticals managing the U.S. oncology business. Her responsibilities included developing, leading, and managing marketing, sales, operations, business insights and analytical functions to achieve commercial goals. As CCO, she also ensured the integrated commercial success of the organization by implementing cross-functional initiatives. The ensuing company growth contributed to 2019 MassEcon Impact Award for Greater Boston where she represented the company.
Prior to joining Servier, Deniz held several executive roles at Shire Plc including the Vice President of Operations for the Internal Medicine and Oncology Franchise, and the Vice President of US Sales for Lysosomal Storage Disorders
and Oncology. Prior to Shire Plc, Deniz held several global positions from 2009 to 2016 across strategy, marketing, new product planning in oncology and immunology. At Hospira (now Pfizer), Deniz led new product launch planning and geographic expansion assessment for Western Europe, Australia, and Canada. At Baxter, Deniz played a pivotal role in preparing the oncology organization for growth through comprehensive analyses of licensing and acquisition opportunities and setting up commercialization plans for internal and new partnership assets. Deniz also held many US roles prior to 2009 in primary care and specialty diseases at Abbott. She has received numerous leadership awards at Abbott for lifecycle management and impact, and, at Baxalta for global business development deals.
Deniz has also served in leadership roles outside of her functional roles. She led or co-led Global Women’s Leadership Business Resource Groups at Hospira, Baxalta and Shire. In addition, she has chaired several leadership networks for sales leaders and nurse educators. Deniz is the Vice President of The Boston Club and serves on the Corporate Board Committee and co-chairs the Healthcare Affinity group. Deniz also is a Board Director at a not-for-profit organization, Gateway Foundation for Cancer Research since 2014.
Deniz has a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College in International Relations and her Master’s in Business Administration in strategy and marketing from University of Michigan. Deniz is fluent in Turkish and lives in Boston.
